UBOS research programs are centered on the creation and empirical analysis of confidential linked to all the microdata that is collected. This integrated microdata is generated within UBOS using data collected for government administrative purposes as well as confidential UBOS surveys and censuses. Research projects at UBOS are carried out both by UBOS permanent staff and by some research associates are administered by the UBOS Coordination and Methods Directorate.
Senior research fellows and research staff at UBOS work on research supporting the analytic needs of policy planners, government agencies, the business community, academic researchers as well as on research protecting the confidentially of the data.
The unique and comprehensive nature of UBOS data is reflected in the diversity of ongoing UBOS research projects, which range from the creation of new measures of workforce quality to the analysis of commuting patterns to the development of confidentiality protection techniques.
