Operational Guidelines For Production Of Quality Statistics In Uganda – March 2026 Report Released

High-quality statistics are fundamental to evidence-based decision-making, effective policy formulation, accountability, and sustainable development. For statistics to be trusted and widely used, they must be accurate, timely, coherent, comparable, and produced in accordance with professional and ethical standards. Achieving and sustaining such quality requires the consistent application of agreed principles, standards, and procedures throughout the entire statistical production process. 

The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), as the central authority for official statistics in Uganda, provides oversight and coordination of statistical activities across the National Statistical System (NSS). In fulfilment of this role, and in recognition of the increasing diversity of data sources and production practices, UBOS has developed the Operational Guidelines for the Production of Quality Statistics.
