During the first quarter of 2022/23, the Bureau is implementing various activities including the Uganda Demographic Health Survey (UDHS), Census Mapping, Uganda Business Inquiry (UBI), The Uganda Harmonized Integrated Survey (AAS/UNPS) among other routine surveys and activities.
The Uganda Bureau of Statistics has its core mandate as the production, coordination and dissemination of official statistics for evidence based planning and decision-making. It fulfils this mandate by undertaking surveys and censuses from which data is collected, analyzed and disseminated to the intended users in a timely and user-friendly manner.
In order to optimize the Advocacy and Publicity resources, the Bureau through the Department of Outreach and Quality Assurance has organized a national e-conference powered by the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), NTV and NBS to update and mobilize the general public of the Bureau activities for Quarter 1 – FY 2022/23.
The conference is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 22, 2022 starting at 11.00am in the UBOS Conference Hall. It will also be live on all UBOS media platforms such as Twitter; @StatisticsUg, facebook and the Uganda Bureau of Statistics website. The sub-theme of the e-conference is “The role of the Public in the Statistical Value Chain”
The conference will bring together distinguished experts across different programme areas / sectors i.e Government Policy Makers, Planners, Private Sector Activists, Development Partners, Civil Society Organisations and Chief Administrative Officers from selected districts to share knowledge and encourage the public to embrace UBOS activities.
