Use of evidence has been a long-standing practice by the Government of Uganda. Public policies, National Development Plans (NDPs) and decision-making have all been informed by official statistics. The availability of quality statistics has, therefore, been identified as one of the successful factors of development agendas.
The UBOS Strategic Plan IV is a buildup on the UBOS SP III implemented between FY 2020/21 to 2024/25. The design of the Fourth UBOS Strategic Plan (SP IV) was informed by the mid-term evaluation of the UBOS SP III and the performance reports. The process involved various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Local Governments (LGs), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Key Producers and Users of Statistics, Development Partners and the Academia. It was designed against a backdrop of increased scope and coverage of quality official statistics and disaggregation; emerging new data ecosystem;
new and non-traditional data sources; new partnerships for development data; the “Data revolution” which calls for open data; new and innovative technologies; and the design of the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV)…. View The UBOS Strategic Plan 2025/26 – 2029/30 | View Other Sector Plans
