The Executive Director and Chief Statistician of Uganda Dr. Chris N. Mukiza Visits The New Vision Head Quarters

The Executive Director and Chief Statistician of Uganda Dr. Chris N. Mukiza, paid a courtesy visit to Vision Group CEO Mr. Don Wanyama at the New Vision Headquarters. The meeting reinforced the strong partnership in using official quality statistics to inform public debate and facilitate policy formulation. The Executive Director commended Vision Group for utilizing official statistics in reporting, noting that this fulfils the Bureau’s mandate of disseminating official statistics and ultimately strengthening the national statistical system. In addition to ensuring equal access to quality data and statistical information.

In his remarks, Mr. Don Wanyama appreciated the Bureau under the leadership of Dr. Chris Mukiza for adequately and regularly availing quality statistical data and information that supports the authenticity of news stories. He cited the National Population and Housing Census 2024 report as a rich source of information that should be simplified by the media for public consumption to enhance data utilization.
